On July 30, 2024, the Phoenix Suns signed Wizards Point Gaurd Tyus Jones to a 1-year minimum contract.  A lot of people, including me, did not see this coming. Tyus was offered way more money and years by teams such as the New York Knicks. What makes this contract the steal of the off-season?

          Suns last season had a problem with turnovers at 14.9 a game. Tyus Jones last season had a 7 to 1 assists to turnover ratio. This has never been done before in the history of the NBA. Also, Tyus has led the league for the past 6 years in assist to turnover ratio.  What that means is that the Suns have 2 point guards that are elite in protecting the ball.

      Tyus is also good from long-range shooting 41.4% last season. Can also play off the ball like Monte.

        The only thing Tyus struggles with is defence. With a defensive rating of 121.6 last season.  With that said, this team is all about offence.
