The Season Begins

          On the 23rd of October, the Phoenix Suns went to take on the LA Clippers in their brand new 2-billion-dollar stadium.

          The Suns got off to a great start.  Crisp ball movement, and with 3 minutes left in the second quarter, the Suns were up by 14 points.

           Then the shots weren’t falling, and the Clippers took over.  With 6 in the fourth quarter, the Suns were down by 10 points. The Suns then went on a run, and Kevin Durant hit the game tying shot with 20 seconds left to go in the game. To send the game into Overtime 103 apiece.

         The Suns shot 1 from 4 from the field from but hit all 10 free throws to win the game 116 to 113.

       The player of the game for the Suns was Bradley Beal.  Scoring 24 points and shooting 4 from 6.

      The positives were there shooting was good and the perimeter defence was good. The negatives were rebounding and way too many turnovers.

      In the next game, the Suns will go to take on the LA Lakers in 2 days’ time.

           On the 25th of October, the Suns went to LA to take on the Lakers. The Suns hit 9 straight 3 pointers. With 3 minutes to go, the Suns were up by 22 points with 72% from deep.

       Then, the LA Lakers took over in what can only be described as an embarrassing loss for the Suns.  The Lakers went on a 29-point turnaround to win the game 123 to 116.

     The best player for the Suns was Kevin Durant with 30P/4R/6A.

     Suns actually did a good job at shooting the ball and rebounding.

       The negatives were sloppy turnovers, and their defence were non-existent.

        The Suns will need to lift if they are to beat the Dallas Mavericks tomorrow.

       On the 26th of October, the Mavericks came to Phoenix in what was the Phoenix Suns’ first home game. The Suns bounced back with a strong win against the defending Western Conference Champions.

       The Suns never trailed after the first quarter, winning 114 to 102. It was a complete effort.  The positives were there really weren’t any negatives. 11 turnovers for the game, which was a big contrast from the game before.

        Suns were strong on the defensive boards.  The player of the game was Jusuf Nurkic with 18P/14R.  Considering his last game was a lot to be desired. This was a great bounce back game for Jusuf as in the 3rd quarter, Jusuf scored 12 consecutive points for the Suns.

          After the first week, the Suns are 2 wins and 1 loss. Which is a fair result from the outset. Hope the Suns continue building in the second week.
