The Sun Devils Receive Big 12 Schedule

After a long road of speculation and negotiations prior to their announcement of moving to the Big 12 conference, the Arizona State Sun Devils have officially (Official Sun Devil news release) received their first Big 12 schedule. On Wednesday the Big 12 conference announced its schedule for 2024-2027 (BIG 12 Announcement) seasons, something fans and players alike have been eager to see what the new conference schedule will look like.

Big 12 football is known for its competitiveness and its high-profile matchups, which is what kept fans intrigued about how the first Sun Devils Big 12 schedule would look. Luckily for teams and fans, the Big 12 will be using a scheduling model they developed with a priority on geography, historic matchups, rivalries as well as competitive balance. The Big 12 has been home to some of the most storied football programs in the country over the years. With the addition of the storied ASU vs U of A rivalry to the conference it seems their history of strong rivalries will be something that will continue to grow.

The Sun Devils Receive Big 12 Schedule

Sun Devil fans finally know WHO they will be playing for the next couple of seasons, however, the Big 12 has yet to announce dates and times. ASU will join the conference next summer where Sun Devil fans will see four Big 12 games at Mountain America Stadium in 2024. The Big 12 said they were putting an emphasis on rivalries during their scheduling process, and it shows in the Sun Devils schedule as the Territorial Cup matchup with Arizona is the only matchup on the schedule for the next four seasons. ASU will see BYU, Colorado, Texas Tech, and Utah three times over the four-year span and will only see the remaining teams twice.

As it currently stands ASU has never faced Kansas or Iowa State in their history. Luckily for Sun Devil fans they won’t have to wait too long. ASU is set to face Kansas at home in 2024 and then scheduled to travel to Iowa State in 2025.
